We spend one week end of December - with a lot of sun - at ``La Ruine`` and we are so happy that we chose this place for our stay. Already the way to the house is beautiful. You pass vineyards and nature and you feel far away from the busy cost - while it is just 15 Minutes away. And at the end of the road there is this little hidden original Provence village where the house is a part from. The hosts are very, very friendly and inside the tasteful house there is nothing missing - and I say nothing.

The hosts though in advance what you need to feel homy. Candles, wood for the open fireplace, coffee capsules, candies and even a welcome package for our dog where waiting. Thank you - we felt home from the first moment. The area around the house it ideal for hiking or biking in the beautiful nature - so you do not need a car if you want to do those activities - and Grimaud is just a 10 minutes car drive. So we highly recommend this accommodation - and hope to be there again soon!!!!

Die Gastgeberqualitäten von Sylvia und Matthew sind herausragend. Die Lage des Objekts ist herrlich abgelegen, grenzt direkt an ein Naturschutzgebiet. Wundervolle Natur und Stille umschliesst das kleine ehemals verlassene Dorf, in dem sich das Objekt befindet im Val de Gilly nahe von Grimaud und Cogolin. Mit dem Auto ist man in 30 min an den Stränden von Pampelonne/St. Tropez. Nächste Supermärkte sind in Cogolin per Auto in 10 min zu erreichen. Das Haus hat zwei Etagen. In der oberen sind zwei Bäder mit Duschen, eine Toilette und die drei Schlafräume, deren Betten alle mit sehr guten

Matratzen ausgestattet sind. Im Erdgeschoss gibt es einen grossen offenen Wohn- / Kochbereich, eine weitere Toilette und einen Wasch-/Trockner/Aufbewahrungsraum. Die Austattung der Küche lässt keine Wünsche offen. Im Aussenbereich gibt es eine herrlich überwachsene Pergola und eine weitere Sitzecke am Haus, sowie durch einen Weg vom Grundstück getrennt ein weiterer Garten mit grossen Steintisch und ein etwas höher gelegener mit einer Treppe zu erreichender schöner Salzwasserpool mit grosszügigen Poolbereich. WiFi funktioniert problemlos. Tribut and die wundervolle Angelegenheit ist der nahezu nicht vorhandene Mobilfunkempfang. Fazit: Herausragende Gastgeber, herrliche Natur, geschmackvolles gepflegtes Objekt.

We were looking for a peaceful holiday in nature, with a beach not too far away, and this met and exceeded our expectations.

The house is situated in a small village Val de Gilly about 10 minutes drive from Grimaud, in the middle of nature. It is spacious (bigger than it seems on the pictures), extremely nicely decorated, with a wonderful swimming pool and hanging-out area. The ground floor of the house provides a fine indoor space in case the weather does not hold, and there are three parts of the grounds outdoors where a large group can hang out. Port Grimaud sandy beach is, as said above, about 15 minute drive away and if one arrives early (this was end of June), one can park on the main road and beat the crowd, which starts to arrive at about 10. There is a ferry to St Tropez every half hour.

The hosts are wonderful - helpful, fun to talk to and although they live very close, never intrusive. They possess an extensive knowledge of the area and are willing to share tips on things to do: how to get to places, which restaurants are good, where and when is the famous flea market and by what time you have to get there to beat the traffic, etcetera.

Highly recommended.

Have spent a wonderfully relaxing week in this lovely house in a beautiful tranquil setting. The house and gardens are lovely with many different seating areas to enjoy and a well maintained pool. The house is simply and tastefully decorated and well equipped. The beds are also very comfortable. As already mentioned there are charming towns nearby with excellent restaurants and the bustle of St Tropez and Port Grimaud nearby if wished. Thank you to Sylvia and Mathieu for making us so welcome.

I celebrated my very special birthday with some of my closest friends over a period of one week- we were 8 in total and had the most amazing time together! We had the most wonderful weather everyday so we could eat outside all the time - there is a fantastic Domaine just 5 minutes down the road with the most fabulous rose wine! We drank copious amounts of it:-) We were all very comfortable - the house has everything you need -on a cooler night the open fire is great! it is important to check the Val de Gilly website as it has all the info you need about the house/ pool and surrounding areas! Silvia and Mathieu are delightful! All in all a splendid time and memories I will hold for a long long time! Thank you so much 🙂 xx
